This Wedding Will Make You Love Barong Tagalog Even More
The Philippine wedding scene has transformed significantly in the past couple of years. It has become more ‘modern’ to say it best. The bride, for instance, goes for an elaborate, embellished wedding gown, while the groom tends to wear tuxedo or suit. It’s rare now to see a man opt for a Barong Tagalog on the d-day. But today, we’re fortunate enough to witness a union that proudly and confidently went back to their roots to incorporate the often ignored Filipino wedding culture and tradition.
Richie and Kyle recently tied the knot in a modernized Filipino way. The groom a fine Barong Tagalog, while the bride chose an off-shoulder wedding gown reminiscent of the baro’t saya. Their entourage also wore Barong Tagalog and Baro’t Saya-inspired outfits. More than the clothes, though, they celebrated the union in traditional Filipino fashion – with their families playing a big part. The bride’s makeup was even done by her mother, bridal makeup artist, Hazel Gonzales of HG Studio. These little details just made us fall head over heels over this union! It wasn’t just a celebration of love, but also a celebration of family and our rich culture.
